Rebranding a Community Hospital
In 2014, Walter Knox Memorial Hospital (WKMH) celebrated 50 years as the trusted healthcare resource in Gem County. Despite its role as a critical access hospital, WKMH faces limited growth opportunities and a decline in federal reimbursements leave limited opportunities to extend its legacy.
While many rural hospitals are being absorbed by larger systems or ceasing operations entirely, WKMH is proactively taking steps to expand its relevance to the communities it serves. Its leadership team seeks to add services reflective of community demographics and needs. The hospital has also elevated the expertise of its physician partners, equipment and on-site capabilities in key service lines to mirror those of the larger healthcare systems in the Treasure Valley.
Despite these steps, community awareness is limited, presenting a substantial opportunity to educate and engage the local community about the care available to them in their backyard.
Based on research conducted within WKMH and in the community, Red Sky recommended a renaming and rebranding initiative for what is now Valor Health. Red Sky led a branding session, which was used to develop a new brand platform and identity. These elements were leveraged to develop an integrated brand launch campaign for educating internal and external audiences.
Collaborating with partners, Red Sky helped develop the following assets for Valor Health:
- Stationary system and business cards
- Introductory brochure
- Newsletter template
- FAQ brochure
- Brand standards guide
